17 - Progress on Bright Fantasy

I want to thank you all once more for reading my book. I've been carefully monitoring it, obviously, and I'm really glad that it is resonating with you all. Please, don't hesitate to reach out with your comments or suggestions. I'd love to hear what you all think, either through your reviews, messages, or emails!
There was no update last week as I took a short vacation I had been postponing for about a year now. Being outside the hell that is the city is always a pleasant experience, and it always encourages me to keep writing. I'm writing these stories because I want to write them, I don't consider them a chore or an obligation. I hope this is communicated in my books.
I'll stick to the method I utilized for the previous status update to give you an estimate of my progress. I wrote 3,381 words this week, some of it adding to what I wrote last week, but most of it progress down the outline. The manuscript is currently 6,630 words long, and I've written about 5.3% of the outline.
Regarding Emily's adventures, I have planned a story spanning about five to nine books in total. I am not yet clear on some details so I don't yet know their concrete number. I have also not yet decided whether I'll group them in two (the Mages' Guild trilogy plus another series) or up to three series (three trilogies, possibly), or unite them under the Mages' Guild series. I think that it would be easier for you to have them all under the same series, but the Mages' Guild is a trilogy, so I might rename the overarching series and keep the Mages' Guild title as the title of the story arc. The easiest would be to use the Mages' Guild title as the overarching title, but we shall see. I hope this is not confusing.
I've been working on the third Mages' Guild book outline, as well. I'm starting to map out the specifics of the book. It's going to have more action, more magic, and of course, more suffering for our poor Emily! But I'm sure you guys love seeing her fight and win—though victory never comes cheap.
After Emily's adventures are done, I may write a series of connected stand-alones. I'm not sure how these will look like, but I wanted to ask you all: do you prefer reading traditional series where each book continues the same characters' adventures, or do you prefer series of loosely connected stand-alone stories that share some characteristics but where you can jump in any one of them without missing anything? Mages' Guild book 3: outline still brewing. If Pathways sells well, this will be written right after Bright Fantasy WT. If not, it might be pushed after another one-off—but I will definitely finish it, even if it doesn't sell that well. However, if you are eager to read the continuation of Emily's adventures, recommend the books to your friends!
